Somerset Twenty20 tickets on sale online for the first time

Somerset County Cricket Club has announced that tickets for every match of the 2006 season, including those for the action -packed Twenty20 matches, are now available for purchase via the Club’s new website www.somersetcountycc.co.uk. The Internet-delivered ticketingsolutions system will handle all web, phone and walk-up sales for the Club, and will also let supporters buy annual memberships online.

The decision to use ticketingsolutions is a reflection of the Club’s commitment to providing supporters with a consistently high level of customer service. As an ‘open all hours’ ticket office, the system allows cricket supporters to purchase their tickets quickly and easily online, at a time to suit them. Email confirmations are automatically sent to all purchasers, who will later receive their match tickets by post.

Sally Donoghue, Operations Manager at Somerset County Cricket Club, explains, “we used to be limited to selling advance tickets over the phone and for selected matches only. With the ticketingsolutions system in place customers can now buy advance tickets online for every single match of the season. This includes tickets for those matches that we previously never would have sold in advance such as the County Championship four-day games, and the England Women’s and Under-19s’ tournaments. The concept is already proving to be very popular with the supporters and advance sales are at an all time high before the season has even started”.

The in-house ticket printing capability of the ticketingsolutions system will ensure that the ticket fulfilment process can be managed more efficiently this season, generating considerable time and cost-savings for the Club. “We used to have to manually hand write tickets which was not only labour-intensive, but also meant supporters had to wait longer for their tickets. Now we can run off printed thermal tickets directly from the ticketingsolutions system in a matter of minutes, and with pre-match delivery to customers we will be able to cut queue times at the ground”, says Sally.

An additional benefit of the ticketingsolutions automated system is the fast delivery of funds from credit and debit card sales direct to the Club’s account. “Payments are processed immediately, without any delays”, says Sally, “and the real-time sales reporting within the system also makes administration and financial reconciliation easier”.

The Club plans to take advantage of the eMarketing capability within the ticketingsolutions system to communicate more effectively with its new online audience and keep supporters updated with fixtures, special offers and other news.
