Scotland's visitor attractions offer online booking

In an exciting new initiative, many of Scotland's leading visitor attractions have teamed up with ticketing supplier, ts.com to offer consumers the ability to pre-book tickets over the web. The service is being promoted through the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) to their members. The new initiative will allow visitors from around the world to plan ahead and pre-book tickets to attractions before they even get to Scotland.

Speaking at the ASVA Spring Conference last month Professor John Lennon of the Moffat Centre for Travel & Tourism Business Development emphasised just how important it is for attractions to work together to promote their events, "Attractions need to look at what can be done to bring people together. They need to collaborate between events in areas - cross selling each other and making it easier for the consumer."

Alan Postlethwaite of ts.com commented, "Visitors want and expect to be able to book attraction tickets in advance. We've been working with ASVA to offer their members the ability to sell online using our ticketingsolutions service. However the solution also allows cross-promotion via the ASVA website and attractions can even team up and sell each others tickets too."

ASVA's Eva McDiarmid said, "Scotland's visitor attractions are delighted to be able to provide the most convenient services possible to potential visitors. We expect many of our 600 members to start selling tickets online with this service over the coming months and are excited to be able to champion the industry in the use of new technologies."

"We welcome and support this innovative service to Scotland's visitors," says Philip Riddle , Chief Executive of VisitScotland . "Being able to buy tickets online makes it easier to experience all that Scotland has to offer and will make visitors trips even more enjoyable. We are delighted that the industry has come together to embrace new technology that lets consumers book their tickets at the time and in the way that suits them best."
